Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif on Sunday said that corruption has weakened the foundations of the country and all records of corruption have been broken in the tenure of the inefficient Federal rulers.

He said that the aim of progress and prosperity cannot be achieved in a country where corruption is rampant. He said that the societies which are governed by corrupt rulers are destroyed. He said that corruption is a result of bad governance.

In a message on International Anti-Corruption Day, Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif said that Zardari gang has looted national resources and pushed the country towards darkness while national institutions have been ruined. He said that the recent report of Transparency International has exposed the record corruption of Zar Bana Forty Thieves. He said that it is lamentable that Pakistan has become 33rd most corrupt country of the world in the tenure of the incompetent Federal rulers. He said that while on the one hand the Federal rulers are looting national resources ruthlessly, on the other hand they are showing criminal negligence towards solution of people's problems which is highly shameful.
